Biologist Bruce Lipton, Who Believes Thought Can Change DNA, Speaks Wednesday

Bruce Lipton speaks at UCSC’s Common Ground Center on the Science of Personal and Global Transformation

SANTA CRUZ, October 11, 2013 – The UCSC Common Ground Center and UCSC Brain, Mind, and Consciousness Society will co-sponsor an event featuring Bruce Lipton, PhD, a former medical school professor and research scientist. Dr. Lipton is a pioneer in stem cell research and an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. He will be speaking about how consciousness interfaces behavior and genetics in order to empower participants to engage their minds, challenge their creativity, and find ways to apply this information to their lives.

Lipton’s groundbreaking studies, which presaged the new science of epigenetics, revealed how genes are controlled by environmental signals, including our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Dr. Lipton, an award winning lecturer and author of The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter and Miracles; Spontaneous Evolution: Our Positive Future and a Way to Get There from Here; and the Honeymoon Effect: The Science of Creating Heaven on Earth, was the recipient of the 2009 prestigious Goi Peace Award (Japan) in honor of his scientific contribution to world harmony. He was recently featured in the film Crossroads: Labor Pains of a New Worldview.
