FOSTER CITY, CA – Dr. Mehmet Oz will headline the third annual symposium on health and wellness, “Create Your Future Health Summit,” sponsored by the Peninsula Special Interest Lions Club (PSILC) on June 13 and 14, at the Santa Clara Convention Center, 5001 Great America Parkway in Santa Clara. Dr. Oz will be joined by other health, wellness, and nutrition experts like Martha Stewart, Integrative Medicine pioneers Dr. James Gordon and Dr. Paul Lynn, Food Revolution Network’s Ocean Robbins, Oncologist Dr. Monique Semien, Writer/Director Dana Nachman of The Human Experiment, and Health 2.0’s Matthew Holt.

“Our focus is to prevent people on our planet from suffering, to give them the information and the tools necessary to achieve a better, happier and healthier life so this year we’re offering attendees CME and CEU credits,” says Eleanor Britter, who, along with husband Bill Britter, founded the PSILC and initiated the yearly health symposiums. “We have more children today born with Type 1 Diabetes. High levels of chemicals in our food and water are impacting women’s reproductive processes. A trip to the grocery store presents a confusing array of choices: do I buy wild, farm-raised or frozen fish? Is all organic produce created equal? This year’s summit will address questions like these and introduce new technologies and methods for self-detection of disease.”

A prime motivator for fellow Lions Dr. Oz and Britter is the potential of children to learn better at school when they eat cleaner and more consciously. Britter says, “We need our young people to innovate and create better futures for all of us. By teaching parents how to take better care of their families, and how the body, mind and spirit are related, we ensure a positive future for our planet.” Attendees who fill out an event survey will receive a free app “to help busy mothers and fathers learn more effective ways to stay current on health issues and ask the right questions of their doctors.”

Emmy-award winning journalist Dana Nachman, director of The Human Experiment and a featured speaker at this year’s Summit, says the shocking reality is that thousands of untested chemicals are in our everyday products, our homes, and inside of us. The film, narrated by Sean Penn—who also serves as the documentary’s Executive Producer—tells the personal stories of people who believe their lives have been affected by chemicals and takes viewers to the front lines as activists challenge the powerful and well-funded chemical industry.

Tickets for the two-day Create Your Future Health Summit are $125 and can be obtained by calling 415-378-6789, emailing estjohn7@gmail.com or by visiting www.cyfhealthsummit.com.
