Library Joint Powers Board Seeks Citizen Member

 

The Library Joint Powers Board for the Santa Cruz Public Libraries has an opening for a Citizen Member who is a registered voter and resides in Library District 3. Library District 3 is defined as the City of Capitola, Supervisorial District 2 (less the City of Watsonville), Supervisorial District 4 (less the City of Watsonville) and Supervisorial District 1 in Live Oak south of Capitola Road and east of 17th Avenue. Specific addresses can be confirmed by contacting Library Administration.

The SCPL Joint Powers Board (LJPB) is a governing board whose broad duties are outlined by the Joint Powers Agreement. The Board is responsible for financial oversight, passing a balanced annual budget, setting strategy and policy for the library to achieve its mission, and establishing criteria for success and evaluating library service. The Board ensures that quality library services are provided to meet the needs of a diverse community. The Board represents the public and is accountable to the public.
