Lighted Boat Parade: Save the Date

The 28th Annual Lighted Boat Parade will light up the Santa Cruz night on Saturday evening, December 7th at 5:30pm.  This free event, put on annually by the Santa Cruz Yacht Club with support from the Port District, is a fun celebration for everyone, young and old.  This year’s theme is Holiday Circle of Light – Catch the Wave!  Along with the lighted boat parade, food and music will be available.

In celebration of the 2013 season, many Santa Cruz Yacht Club members, along with other members of the Santa Cruz boating community, are already planning colorful lighting displays to delight all who take in this year’s parade.  The Lighted Boat Parade can be viewed from either side of the harbor channel between the Murray Street bridge and the Crow’s Nest and Aldo’s restaurants.  The parade will take place rain or shine.

More than 30 boats of all sizes and styles are expected to participate. The Lighted Boat Parade is one of the most anticipated events of the Santa Cruz County holiday season, with the harbor community showing off it’s best stuff, while more than a thousand local residents line the harbor to join in the celebration and fun.  The parade will also be broadcast live on KSCO Radio.
