MLK Day at Homeless Garden Project, Natural Bridges

Lisa Bennett, Owner of Synergy HomeCare, and her sons gathered with dozens of volunteers on MLK Day to turn and sift compost, prepare vegetable beds, and share a straight-from-the-garden vegetable salad.

The Homeless Garden Project is one of the few community gardens in the Santa Cruz area. They participate in local farmers' markets, run a CSA, and a shop in town. They provide job training and meaningful work in the therapeutic environment of an organic farm.
