Laird’s Academy of Martial Arts Grand Opening

Laird’s Academy of Martial Arts in Santa Cruz will celebrate the grand opening of the school in their new location at 175 Walnut Avenue, Suite C from 10am – 3pm on Saturday April 21st.  The school has been in operation for 9 years, and recently moved to Walnut Avenue from their former location near Harvey West Park.

Ribbon cutting with a sword will start the event at 10am.  The event will include FREE mini classes as well as demonstrations of Korean martial arts, judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and sparring taught at the school.  All are welcome to enter raffle drawings for martial arts gear and merchandise from local businesses. Enjoy a FREE hot dog too!

Mike Laird, owner and head instructor, opened the Academy doors in March
2003 to share the mental, physical, and character-building benefits of martial
arts.  In addition to self-defense, students develop important life skills such as self-confidence, respect, patience, perseverance, humility, and how to make good
choices in difficult situations.  Classes are open to both children and adults.  More information can be found on the web at lairdsacademy.com
