Traces of rain fell across Santa Cruz County in Thursday, the first precipitation in the area in weeks.
Normally Santa Cruz receives just under 2 inches of rain in April and almost an inch in May.
Before Thursday's misting, Santa Cruz had recorded 17.14 inches of rain this water year. Normal seasonal rainfall is 30.63 inches, according to the city Water Department.
