Know A Kid In Santa Cruz Who Needs A Bike?

New surplus bicycle distribution program is underway courtesy of Santa Cruz Police, Parks & Rec and Teen Center.

The Santa Cruz Police and Parks and Recs departments, in collaboration with the Santa Cruz Teen Center, have launched a new bicycle distribution program.

Surplus bicycles in police storage are given to youths who have a need for two-wheeled transportation -- a great program to ensure the bicycles are legitimately serving the youths of Santa Cruz through a program managed by the Teen Center staff.

This program also ensures the bicycles are properly registered and don’t end up on the street or back in the PD property storage.

If you know a youth in need of a reliable bicycle, have them contact the Teen Center and register for a new bike. Or email: teencenter@cityofsantacruz.com.

The Teen Center address:  301 Center St. at the Louden Nelson Community Center.
