New Restaurant YOLO Gets Some Slams on Yelp

We haven't yet visited YOLO (You Only Live Once), which is a somewhat dubious name for a place serving food.

But YELP critics have slammed the place for what appear to be fake reviews. The restaurant at 503 Water St. got its first review Friday from someone in Florida and another from someone in Columbus, Ohio. A review from someone in Santa Cruz calls it YOLO by the water, except, Water Street is nowhere near the water, unless you count the cement culvert.

Here's one from Erik I:

"Tremendous atmosphere and excellent customer service! Their food is both elegantly simple and absolutely delicious. The owner (Richard) and our server (Victoria) were so welcoming and friendly. Definitely one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in my life! I cannot recommend it enough. Do yourself a favor and go to Yolo by the water!!!"

And a response from Josh G.:

"yolo, by the water? guess what - water street doesn't go anywhere near the ocean.  guy in florida who lives an hour away?  All 5 star reviews for this place are fake.  I think the owners need to find a better fake review service.  YOLO - you only lie once."
