Owner of Mega Millions® Ticket Sold in Santa Cruz County Has Won $1.6 Million Prize!

News from the California Lottery:

SACRAMENTO – If word hasn’t already started spreading throughout the coffee shops and restaurants in the tiny Santa Cruz County town of Felton – you better believe it’s about to! 

That’s because the person who purchased a Mega Millions ticket there matched five of six numbers in last night’s draw to win the dream amount of $1,669,791. 

The winning ticket matched the numbers 13-17-24-47 and 65, missing only the Mega number of 10. Had that happened, we would be talking about a $25 million jackpot because nobody else in the country matched all six numbers. But listen, we doubt California’s only big winner from last night’s draw will be complaining! 

While we still don’t know who the winner is, we for sure know the lucky $1.6 million ticket was sold at Quick Stop, located at 5960 Highway 9 in Felton (Santa Cruz County). With a population in Felton of only roughly 5,000, you just know people are talking – or at least they will be! 

         The California Lottery strongly urges the winner from last night’s draw to sign the back of their ticket in ink, obviously keep it in a safe place and visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. The winner has 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize. 

        Mega Millions is played in California (and 42 other states, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. PST.
