Photo of the Day: Congressman Sam Farr and Aide 'Watch' Santa Cruz Warriors Tuesday

Congressmen.

You give them the best seat in the house, next to Warriors President Jim Weyermann, but they act like teenagers, texting from the front row.

Maybe he's catching up on the 2,000 pages of the Affordable Care Act he voted for last year. Maybe he's texting his aid, sitting next to him. Maybe he's checking Wikipedia to figure out which state Sioux Falls is in.

Can't say he's alone. Looks like most of the other people in the pic have their minds elsewhere, despite a great game between the Santa Cruz Warriors and the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

I was at this game and could see Sam from my seat and every time I looked at Sam he was watching the game and seemed to be really enjoying it. Everyone checks their phone during the games. This photo is a real cheap shot.

Funny, because every time I looked he was texting.

I usually always enjoy your posts but I have to agree with Rachel on this one. I think it was great having the Congressman out last night and supporting the community. I'm sure it wasn't an easy trip from Carmel Valley. From what I saw he really seemed to be enjoying the game! I hope your post doesn't deter our elected officials from being part of this amazing community we have in Santa Cruz. Cheap shot indeed.

You know what...I think you guys are right. This probably was a cheap shot, especially if he was working on something important. It just seemed out of place for him to be in the front row texting. My apologies.

Maybe he was just bored. Not everyone finds basketball endlessly fascinating.
