Photo of the Day: Spotted Along Highway 1, Beauty and the Beasts
Bird experts: what kind of critter is this? A parakeet?
Down below there were campsites of junkies and thieves, based on the bags of drugs, the new bicycle tires and the orange syringe protectors spotted Sunday morning. They call it "Heroin Highway" and the people down there had nice bikes and what appeared to be stolen goods.
But right as Highway 1 headed north from Highway 17, past the Fish Hook and before the turnoff to Highway 9, there was this bird flitting around that looks like a parakeet.
