About a dozen local veterans and Santa Cruz citizens gathered at the corner of Front St. and Pacific Ave. Monday to raise their voices in song, honoring American soldiers who have died in battle while at the same time raising their own spirits.
While many veterans suffer from depression and other psychological and physical problems associated with war, organizers of the sing-a-long said that singing is therapeutic and helps vets take their minds off of the horrors of losing their comrades.
