If last night's sudden downpour was a bit of a shock, the National Weather Service wants you to know ... you ain't seen nothing yet.
As of 4:47 p.m., the weather service announced a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for both Santa Cruz County and Santa Clara County. According to the weather service, there is a "20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11:00 p.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail and heavy rain."
The announcement also stated that there will be damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.
The weather service also said that there may be hail tonight, up to 1 inch in diameter.
So stay safe, make sure that you move your belongings you don't want to get soaked to another place and bust out those camera phones. Upload photos of stormy weather to Santa Cruz Pics & Clips!
