Swimmers Urged to Stay Out of Water at Cowell's and Main Beach

High bacteria was found at the two Santa Cruz beaches as well as Rio del Mar in Aptos.

Cowell was found to be the most polluted beach in California earlier in the year and studies are being done to determine why. Theories include waste from the sea lions on the wharf and rotting kelp.
