Where's This in Santa Cruz?

Can you guess where this photo was taken?

It's the peak of hump day, so here's a fun guessing game to get you through the afternoon.

Think you know Santa Cruz like the back of your hand? Let's see how well you've been paying attention as you meander through our fair city.

Here's a photo I shot yesterday. Do you know where it was taken? It's out in the open, though not highly visible.

Post your answer in the comment section. The first person to solve the mystery gets ultimate bragging rights...for the day at least.

It's the railing in front of the City Water Department offices on Locust Street in downtown Santa Cruz. When the empty mid-century building was purchased by the City and converted to offices for the Water Department and Library, this decorative railing -- with motifs of water incorporated -- was funded by the City Public Art Program.

No! My mistake! It's the second floor railing around the Planning Department annex at city hall. Also funded by Public Art Program.

cynthia's second comment is correct--of course a several-term council member would know! :)

Haha, you are correct, cynthia! I took this during Tuesday's city council meeting :) Great detail that adds character to the building.
