Get Out in Santa Cruz, Dance, Dance, Dance!
Dance Week kicks off with a downtown extravaganza and continues through the weekend and into next week, topping off the list of what's to do when you Get Out in and around Santa Cruz this week!
Where/When: Downtown Santa Cruz and various other locations throughout the city, until next Friday. Thursday night kicks off in downtown Santa Cruz with "Dancing in the Streets" on three stages from 5:30-9 p.m.
Why Go: Celebrate dance. Get out and do some dancing yourself and watch others do their thing as they go into motion in all kids of dance forms. And the party lasts all week. See the full schedule at Santa Cruz Dance.

Why Go: Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery is offering to do the right thing. And you should help the brewery do it. On Thank You Thursday, it donates $1 of every beer sold to a nonprofit. This Thursday, it goes to Save Our Shores in support of the work the organization continues to do to, well, save our shores. Have a beer. Say thank you. And maybe even say thanks again.

Where/When: 131 Front St. (Motion at the Mill) Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Show up for some great dance performances and the grand opening of Motion at the Mill, a celebration of dance in Santa Cruz. The performance starts at 8 p.m., but go early for the champagne reception. Many groups will take to the stage, including Flex, Cid Pearlman Performance Projects, Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre and Joe Goode Performance Group.

Why Go: This is definitely a different twist on wine-tasting. Donuts and wine is not your typical combination. And there is more happening this Saturday as well at Poetic Corners. Show up for a live filming of a reality-TV pilot.
Pricing: $5 tasting fee, includes donut and wine pairing
Where/When: 2218 E. Cliff Dr., Sunday 9 p.m.
Why Go: Get ready for your work week with a laugh, lots of Sunday-night laughs. There will be live comedy Sunday night with stand-up routines from three of our local comics. Get out and hear them do what they do best—make you laugh.
