The 18th annual Monte Fireworks lit up the skies over Monterey Bay Friday night. This is Santa Cruz's chance to have a great fireworks show because it's usually too foggy on the Fourth of July and its clear in October.
It raised $120,000 for the schools last year and $30,000 for scholarships.
It was long enough and loud enough to scare the fish, the whales and the sharks away for some time.
