James Durbin Busts Out the Song that Made him Famous in Santa Cruz
'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' shows the quieter side of the 'American Idol' rocker.
Record producer Jimmy Iovine warned Santa Cruz American Idol candidate Wednesday night not to turn the George Harrison song into "While My Guitar Gently Sleeps."
He didn't. Again, Durbin drew tremendous praise from the judges, particularly Jennifer Lopez, who congratulated his first effort away from his more familiar hard rock.
The ballad stood out in a field that leaned toward rock, in a show that celebrated Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members.
