Explore and taste Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noirs with one of the premier wineries of the region, Vine Hill. Nick Guerrero will take you on a tasting journey through the different sub-regions of our large mountain appellation: Skyline, Los Gatos/Saratoga, Summit, Los Ranchos, Ben Lomond Mountain, Corralitos/Pleasant Valley. Explore what makes them distinct, and what makes them similar.

Vine Hill is known for its focus on Pinot Noirs from the Santa Cruz Mountains, and Nick will share with you his intimate familiarity with the sub-regions and their wines. Learn more about Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noirs with one of the leading winegrowers of the region. If you love Pinot Noir or want to know more about the wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains, this is a perfect opportunity.

The class is $30; $25 for wine club members of any of the Surf City Vintners group of wineries. This class can be taken individually, or as part of the series. All classes include wine tasting. Sign up for all four classes and receive a tasting card to all 13 Surf City wineries valued at $60.

Surf City University gives wine lovers and those new to wine the opportunity to learn more about wine from a group of master vintners who combined have more than 150 years of winemaking experience. The winemakers of the Surf City Vintners wineries share their passion and knowledge in an informal and fun environment in their own wineries and tasting rooms.  Get your degree in 'sip-ology'!

 The Summer 2012 'semester' also includes:

- July 15: Chardonnay Styles, with Steve Storrs, Storrs Winery
- August 12: Terroir, with Joe Miller,Rexford Winery
- Sept. 9: The Perfect Wine & Cheese Pairing, with Sue Slater, Cabrillo College Culinary Arts program (at Silver Mountain's Surf City tasting room)

The Surf City Vintners
group of 13 boutique wineries and tasting rooms offers a vibrant urban wine tasting experience. The individual wineries are in close proximity on the Westside of Santa Cruz on Ingalls Street, Swift Street, and the Old Sash Mill, most in renovated warehouse spaces. The area has become a hip example of urban renewal. The wineries showcase the wines of a group of leading winemakers of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and are small, family-owned and operated local businesses. Visitors often meet and talk directly with the winemakers. I like the sound of James' new music and believe he has shown significant growth between his debutRead More album and his second. But to say he was "the real winner of his season of 'American Idol'" is disingenuous. He faltered down the stretch compared to the other finalists.

This show was exceptional, James is a natural on stage and shines with the brightest stars. I amRead More proud to say I was hooked and reeled in from the first notes sang during Idol auditions. As a life long lover of a variety of music I can safely say I see nothing but great things in this young man's future. He had me first as a singer,soon thereafter as a performer and now as James DURBIN, singer, song writer, performer and artist. He continues to grow and push himself toward stardom and I am proud to be Right Behind him all the way.
