"Sunset at Surf City" - A Wine & Food Faire (A Fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank)

 ,   Add to calendar
 Santa Cruz  See map

Wine and dine outdoors in sustainable style at the Surf City Vintners’ second annual “Sunset at Surf City Vintners - Food & Wine Faire” on the Westside of Santa Cruz. Choose from two dates or come to both this year, on July 14 and August 18, 2012.

It's a dinner market. It's an urban picnic. It's a community banquet, and will feature many local food vendors; the wineries of the Surf City Vintners pouring their wines; and live music with the Cabrillo Jazz All Stars. Food and wine will be sold by each vendor; there is no additional entry fee. Guests are encouraged to bring their own plates, utensils and wine glasses in support of sustainable practices. The Faire will be held in the parking lot near Copious Winery and Equinox at 427 Swift Street, from 5:00-8:00.

Surf City Vintners is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank with the goal to raise funds from this event for 9600 meals for children in Santa Cruz County who may not be getting regular meals while they are out of school this summer. Monetary donations are encouraged to help meet this goal for the Food for Children campaign.

Local culinary purveyors providing dinner options include:  Bruno's BBQ, Cruz’n Gourmet, Uncle Ro’s Pizza, Iveta, Akira Sushi, H&H Fresh Fish - Oyster Bar, Conscious Creations, True Olive Connection, Stagnaro's, Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing, and more.

The Surf City Vintners group of 13 boutique wineries and tasting rooms offers a vibrant urban wine tasting experience. The individual wineries are in close proximity on the Westside of Santa Cruz on Ingalls Street, Swift Street, and the Old Sash Mill, most in renovated warehouse spaces. The area has become a hip example of urban renewal. The wineries showcase the wines of a group of leading winemakers of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and are small, family-owned and operated local businesses. Visitors often meet and talk directly with the winemakers. The Surf City Vintners wineries include:  Bonny Doon Vineyard; Copious Winery; Equinox Champagne Cellar; MJA Vineyards; Odonata Wines; Rexford Winery; Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard (including Quinta Cruz); Silver Mountain; Sones Cellars; Storrs Winery and Vineyards; Trout Gulch Vineyards; Vino Tabi, Wargin Wines.

I like the sound of James' new music and believe he has shown significant growth between his debutRead More album and his second. But to say he was "the real winner of his season of 'American Idol'" is disingenuous. He faltered down the stretch compared to the other finalists.

He is such an attractive and lovely young man, tho I am old enough to be his grandmother I stillRead More feel so passionate about James Durbin and his sexy hair and rock music. Makes me feel young again!

This show was exceptional, James is a natural on stage and shines with the brightest stars. I amRead More proud to say I was hooked and reeled in from the first notes sang during Idol auditions. As a life long lover of a variety of music I can safely say I see nothing but great things in this young man's future. He had me first as a singer, soon thereafter as a performer and now as James DURBIN, singer, song writer, performer and artist. He continues to grow and push himself toward stardom and I am proud to be Right Behind him all the way.
