Support Second Harvest Food Bank’s Food for Children Drive

New Leaf Community Markets has partnered with the Second Harvest Food Bank to participate in the Rotary Interact Food for Children Drive. Each year, local teen Rotary Interact Clubs team up with Second Harvest to collect food and money during the campaign. With March and April being the hardest months for many Santa Cruz County residents waiting for work to begin in tourism, construction, and agriculture, this is a tremendous opportunity to give, as each $1 donated will be matched by an anonymous donor of up to $20,000 for Food For Children, which currently serves over 9,000 children a month. Individuals can purchase a donation bag for $9.99 ($15 retail value) that has already been assembled by New Leaf with the most needed items, or buy and donate individual food items. Foods needed most right now include canned meat and tuna, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, and soups and stews.  Donate at the New Leaf stores on the Westside, downtown Santa Cruz, and in Capitola.
