Free Coffee, Beer, Food, Ice Cream, Cupcakes and Music Saturday

It seems like yesterday that a local roaster took on the big chains and won, but it's been five years.

Verve Coffee Roastery is celebrating its fifth year Saturday with a big party and lots of free stuff.

In a town that already had Starbucks and Peets, the owners of Verve struck out to make what they considered a better roast.

And against the odds, because 61 percent of restaurants fail in their first three years, Verve has grown and prospered, opening three local shops.

The party is at the 104 Bronson St., Suite 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
