On the day after Thanksgiving Santa Cruz Patch will cover the parking meters along Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz and let shoppers park for free.
No, you aren't being Punk'd – the city council even approved it Tuesday.
Patch will pay for all the meters along Pacific Avenue from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. They will be covered with bags so people can use them for two hours to shop till they drop.
Patch people will also be out there handing out T-shirts, water bottles, sunglasses, pens, magnets and stickers with the green logo.
The day will also start a contest among downtown businesses for the most colorful holiday decorations. More on that soon.
See you out there...
