Baseball was back at Cabrillo College, and the fans today
saw a great match up. Cabrillo and Santa Barbra matched up today in game one
out of a three game series, with round one going to Cabrillo 6 to 4. The Hawks
were lead by the young freshman pitcher #19 Nat Hamby from Soquel High. Hamby went
6 strong innings giving up only two hits, allowing one run, four strikeouts and
four walks. It was definitely a great quality start for Seahawks manger Bob
Kittle. “Nat was great today.  It was a
tough 1st start that wasn’t his best effort, but it was good.  He hit the outside corner and looked good.”  Kittle was calm with his team before the game,
and he just wanted to have his guys, “go out, have fun, and get a victory
today.” The offense was hot in the first inning scoring four runs out of the shoot
when # 15 Tyler Silva out of the DH role came up big, with a game difference making
two run single in the first inning. Tyler states, “This is way better than
playing in high school.” He also explains about his big hit saying, “it felt
pretty good getting that first pitch fastball.” Some other notables # 3 Tyler
Olivet had 2 singles and a double, #12 JQ Folena had an RBI 2 hits and one run.

The team was just passionate all game
long and it was during the highs and lows of the game. The team chemistry that
coach Kittle has a great group.  In the
dugout even the umpires knew it. It was lead by sophomore 3rd
baseman #33 Vinny Augustine. There will be a doubleheader Saturday with Santa Barbra.
#17 Keefe O Hall a freshman from Reno will go for the Hawks in game 1, and the game
2 starter has yet to be determined.  So
if you don’t have anything to do on a Saturday afternoon, check out this team
play…you will see a great show!
