What: Passport Days 2014
When: 11a.m. – 5p.m.
Where: Various Wineries
Why Go: Thirty plus wineries around Santa Cruz County not normally open to the public will host this event complete with artisan wines, crafts, delicacies, and music.

What: Families in Nature: Winter Wonderland with Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History
When: 5p.m. – 7:30p.m.
Where: Moore Creek Preserve
Why Go: This twilight walk at Moore Creek Preserve includes nocturnal animal tracking, sensory activities, observation, and of course stargazing!

What: Winter Wildflower Walk
When: 10 a.m.
Where: Meet at Big Basin Park Headquarters
Why Go: Join Docent Scott Peden and learn to identify many of Big Basin’s flowering plants. Two Chimney trees and a waterfall will also be included on this leisurely four mile walk. Can’t make it Saturday? There will be a similar but slightly longer hike Sunday, same time!

What: The Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Gospel Night
When: 7 p.m.
Where: Resource Center for Non-Violence
Why Go: Celebrate MLK, Jr. with an evening of local soloists and choirs, including inspirational songs featuring Inner Light Choir, the Santa Cruz Community Choir, Progressive Missionary Baptist Church Choir, and more! Seating is limited so come early.
Cost: $10-$20 sliding scale, available at the door.

Why Go: “A Song for Coretta,” a performance by the UCSC’s Rainbow Theater, is a “sharp” comedy that has a message for youth of all ages. There will also be a hands-on theater workshop.
Cost: Free

What: 7th Annual UCSC Women’s Club Chocolate Festival
When: 1p.m. – 4p.m.
Where: The Cocoanut Grove
Why Go: Truffles, cupcakes, and everything chocolate will be complimented by wine tasting at this fun event. Don’t miss the silent auction!
