Why Go: Seven kid bands will perform at this Oktoberfest event and home-brewed root beer, sausages, and micro-brews will be provided. What: Sugar Skulls: A family Art Workshop

What: The 2nd Annual Santa Cruz Open Streets
When: 9a.m. – 2p.m.
Where: West Cliff Dr. (from Lighthouse Field to Natural Bridges State Park)
Why Go: No need to worry about cars during this event while riding bikes, skating, or playing in the street. A large stretch of West Cliff Drive will be blocked off for musical performances, food trucks, and free activities like Zumba and hula hooping. It’s a party in the street that’s fun for the whole family. The goal, “Santa Cruz Open Streets fosters individual and community health through creative use of public space.” http://scopenstreets.org/

What: Welcome Back Monarchs Day at Natural Bridges State Beach

Why Go: Welcome back the Monarchs at this event as they return to their winter habitat.
