Earthquake Recap: Tiny Mid-Week Shakes

Four small earthquakes hit the Silicon Valley region this week, but they were too small for most to feel.


Four small earthquakes made waves on the Richter scale around Silicon Valley this week, with the two largest measuring 1.1 on the Richter scale, six kilometers outside of Portola Valley and one kilometer outside of Montara, according to data gathered by the U.S. Geological Survey.

Generally, earthquakes that fail to break the 2.0-mark on the scale are difficult to feel far from the epicenter.
