Laurel Street Bridge Murals Christened Friday; See All of The Artists Here

Mayor Hilary Bryant and city council members Don Lane, Lynn Robinson and Cynthia Mathews showed up at a ceremony to honor the Mission Middle School students who spent months working on 87 mosaics about marine life to decorate the Laurel Street Bridge.

It's the third bridge project by art teacher Kathleen Crocetti. This one was funded by the city and the Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County, with private donations and plenty of volunteers.

The Soquel Bridge and Water Street Bridge have mosaics of plants and crops. 

Crocetti's next project will be the light posts leading along the San Lorenzo River.
