Photos: Aptos 'World's Shortest Fourth of July Parade' is a Big Hit for Santa Cruzans

Here's the BIGGEST collection of photos of the World's Shortest Fourth of July parade in Aptos.

The two-block-long parade that's in the Guinness Book of World Records as being the world's shortest, brought throngs of people into Aptos for the Fourth of July.

It covers the equivalent of two New York City blocks, or for locals, from the Wells Fargo to the old Britannia Arms and is one of the most charming, local-centric gatherings anywhere.

This year's model showed that suburban Aptos has some crazily fun people. (Check the pics.)

Kids, dogs, politics, churches, exotic cars and martial arts studios all had their floats. Marching bands were in short supply: only Watsonville High was represented. Let's hope for more next year. The parade went from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., although marchers were lined up since 8 a.m.

What was your favorite thing in the parade?
