Election Day for voters in the City of Scotts Valley and Loma Prieta School

Voting hours today are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for voters in the City of Scotts Valley and Loma Prieta School District.

If you still have your vote-by-mail ballot you must deliver it today to one of the polling places in Santa Cruz County or drop it off at the Scotts Valley City Clerk's Office at 1 Civic Center Drive in Scotts Valley or drop it off at the County Elections Office at 701 Ocean Street in Santa Cruz.

The question proposed to voters in Scotts Valley is:


  • Measure U - City of Scotts Valley Temporary Sales Tax. Shall a temporary one-half of one percent sales tax rate increase be approved for an eight year period to keep the budget balanced and to preserve police, parks, recreation and other city services for the residents of Scotts Valley?

The
question proposed to voters in the Loma Prieta School District is:

  • Measure H - To support high academic achievement for local students and provide stable local funding to maintain outstanding core academic programs in reading, writing, math, and science, retain highly qualified and experienced teachers, and prepare students for an excellent high school shall the Loma Prieta Joint Union Elementary School District authorize an annual school parcel tax of $164 per parcel for seven years with independent citizens’ oversight, an exemption for seniors, no funds for administrator’s salaries and every dollar staying in our schools?
