BOOKSHOP SANTA CRUZ LAUNCHES HOLIDAY BOOK DRIVE BENEFITING LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Santa Cruz, CA. — To celebrate a season of giving, Bookshop Santa Cruz is launching its third annual Holiday Book Drive to collect books to give to public schools throughout Santa Cruz County.

Bookshop Santa Cruz is offering 20% off all purchases of new and used books to be donated to the Santa Cruz Education Foundation (on behalf of Santa Cruz City Public Schools) and the Pajaro Valley Unified School District.

Bookshop Santa Cruz will collect these books at any register until December 31st and will pass them onto school libraries and classrooms to enhance reading opportunities for public school students.

School librarians from all over Santa Cruz County submitted a wish list of books that are in high demand among students in public schools.  Wish list books can be viewed on display at Bookshop Santa Cruz, in a binder at Bookshop’s information desk or online at www.bookshopsantacruz.com/holidaybookdrive (use the code “DONATE” to receive 20% off). Community members can also donate their favorite books to the Holiday Book Drive or gift cards that librarians can use to purchase the books in most need.

Suz Howells, President of the Santa Cruz Education Foundation says, "We are so grateful for the connection Bookshop helps to build between our community and our school libraries. Every book received is treasured by a child and stokes a lifelong love of reading.”

Last year, through the generous spirit of its customers, Bookshop was able to distribute hundreds of books and thousands of gift cards to school libraries, many of who no longer have a school budget to buy books for their libraries.

I like the sound of James' new music and believe he has shown significant growth between his debutRead More album and his second. But to say he was "the real winner of his season of 'American Idol'" is disingenuous. He faltered down the stretch compared to the other finalists.

He is such an attractive and lovely young man, tho I am old enough to be his grandmother I stillRead More feel so passionate about James Durbin and his sexy hair and rock music. Makes me feel young again!

This show was exceptional, James is a natural on stage and shines with the brightest stars. I amRead More proud to say I was hooked and reeled in from the first notes sang during Idol auditions. As a life long lover of a variety of music I can safely say I see nothing but great things in this young man's future. He had me first as a singer, soon thereafter as a performer and now as James DURBIN, singer, song writer, performer and artist. He continues to grow and push himself toward stardom and I am proud to be Right Behind him all the way.
