Need to learn how to select, plant, irrigate, manage pests, or maintain your fruit trees? Not sure where to begin? This three-hour workshop is for you.
UC Santa Cruz's Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems is pleased to present this informative workshop with expert orchardist Matthew Sutton. Sutton founded Orchard Keepers (www.orchardkeepers.com), a Santa Cruz-based company that specializes in orchard design, installation and maintenance.
Attendees will learn the basics of how to select and plant fruit trees, maintain trees, and increase their backyard orchard's yield. Please note that a separate workshop focused on winter pruning will take place at the UCSC Farm on February 2 (see casfs.ucsc.edu for details).
