Lauded pianist and composer, Omar Sosa, with six previous Grammy nominations to his credit, has established an international reputation for his exciting brand of Afro-Cuban jazz. His dedication to the roots of his music, blended with contemporary harmonic structures and crowd-pleasing performances, have made Sosa an innovator among his contemporaries. His latest album, Eggun, was commissioned by the Barcelona Jazz Festival as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue. Sosa’s Afri-Lectric Sextet features Peter Apfelbaum on saxophone andJoo Kraus on trumpet.
