Now in its 21st year, BizAID for AIDS was developed by New Leaf Community Markets and Santa Cruz Aids Project (SCAP) as a way for businesses to support people in Santa Cruz County living with HIV. Participating companies throughout Santa Cruz County have committed to SCAP a percentage of sales or a specific amount to donate during the ten days after Thanksgiving. SCAP provides critical support to people living with HIV/AIDS for free, including referrals, psychosocial support and financial support, plus outreach to high-risk populations to prevent the spread of HIV, Hepatitis C, and sexually transmitted diseases.
