Global Youth Service Day 2011

YouthSERVE, a program of the Volunteer Centers of Santa Cruz County in collaboration with the Homeless Garden Project invites county youth and families to participate in a day of compost education and service in honor of Global Youth Service Day on Saturday April 16 from 10-2PM.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in garden compost projects while learning about how they can promote food waste reduction both at home and at school.
Global Youth Service Day is the largest service event in the world where youth organize community service projects in their local communities. Last year several million youth from over 100 countries participated in service projects.
 
Family Friendly. Minimum age 11. Volunteers should wear long pants and closed toed shoes. Lunch will be provided but please bring water. Youth must have a completed parental permission slip that can be downloaded from www.scvolunteercenter.org or signed on the day of.
