New United Nations Plan to Destroy Asteroids:  The U.N. is proposing a plan that would have numerous countries cooperating on sending small kamikaze robots to destroy incoming asteroids.  What the hell?  Could this mean Bruce Willis is retiring?  Now I don’t know how effective this plan will be, but in the long run, I suppose its better than drafting a non-binding resolution prohibiting asteroids from striking us.

Saturday Night Live Faulted for Lack of Cast Diversity:  Saturday Night Live’s lack of diversity in its cast has been drawing the ire of both bloggers and civil rights groups as well.  No kidding, if the show gets any whiter, they’ll have to rename it “Saturday White Live.

UK Study Says Fatty Foods May Increase Depression:  Researchers in London who studied the diets of British civil servants report that a diet heavy in processed and fatty foods increases the risk of depression.  On the other hand, they may just be depressed because they have to eat British food.

Texas Man Jailed for Overdue Library Book:  A Texas man found himself arrested and then jailed over a recently passed ordinance which allows courts to issue arrest warrants for library patrons who have had a book checked out for over 90 days and have not responded to requests to return the book.  Wow, sounds like they really threw the book at him!  Lets hope he’s able to turn the page and move on to the next chapter in his life.
