Road to Publication: Surprise Release for The Castle Blues Quake!

I had a surprise from my publisher this week. It turns out what I thought was going to be my second book is actually my first.

I’m excited to announce that my middle-grade novel, The Castle Blues Quake, has been released and is now available on Amazon! And check out the very cool cover created by Jennifer Stevens who works at my publisher, Beau Coup Publishing.

If you’ve been following this blog, you know that my Road to Publication has been a long one, with ups and downs, curves and temporary road blocks. I can’t believe the day has finally arrived.

Here is a brief synopsis of my story:

12-year-old Pepper Connelly leaves her best friend, Chrissie, behind when her family moves into a “house of horror” according to Pepper, but “perfect” according to her mother. Perfectly haunted, Pepper thinks. And readers soon learn there really is a ghost hiding in a shed on the property. But to Pepper, the “ghost” is just a boy named Corey Ballentine who’s waiting to make contact with his beloved grandfather, Boppie, one last time before he crosses over. He tells Pepper he needs to find Boppie before Social Services puts him in a foster home. Pepper agrees to help.

Earthquakes, haunted house rides, poltergeist activity, and crystal ball readings propel her toward the terrifying and devastating conclusion of her search, and an understanding of what it means to be a true friend.
