In My Life! Reflections of the Past Stir Creative Juices in the Present.

Okay, this old song definitely stirs up a LOT of emotions for me.  I admit it.  Beneath this hardened crust I'm a gooey marshmellow.  Brings back so many memories, and the Beatles still affect our lives.  

This reflection on "Life", is visually illuminated by many local artists in the latest gallery exhibition at the Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center in Ben Lomond.    A diverse collection of paintings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, basketry, textiles and jewelry uniquely reflects the "Art in our Lives".   

Local bellydancer, Helené, related her unique "story":  she met the Beatles many moons ago, and they were inspired to write a song about her!  Her story is a part of a collection, "In My Life: Encounters with the Beatles", and features stories by other (in)famous characters like Tom Wolfe, Allen Ginsberg, Timothy Leary and more.  And I think, "How cool is that?!?" 

So if you're out and about on Friday evening (April 6), drop in to the Art Center and meet the artists.  Celebrate the Art in our Lives.  The public is invited to this FREE event....6 - 8 p.m.  And, if you can't help us raise a glass to art, the gallery is open from Wednesdays - Sundays, noon to 6 p.m.   It's a nice show, and worth a visit.
