Did you know Live Oak is not part of Santa Cruz City?

Why yes! 'Tis true. Live Oak residents make up the 3rd largest community in our County, larger than all towns and cities other than Watsonville and Santa Cruz. Live Oak stretches from the Harbor to 38th Ave, from Hwy 1 to our beautiful beaches. Our Community has never become a City because there is a very small business tax base (most of our tax base was annexed by Capitola.) Where do we buy our groceries? Brown's Ranch (Capitola), 41st (Capitola) and so it goes.
