Desalination EIR

The Environmental Impact Report for the City's proposed $150,000 ocean water desalination project is available at the Santa Cruz Public Library. The document is 6,000 pages long (that's right six thousand pages!), so it will take all of the allotted 60 for review and commentary. If you feel this is not enough time to adequately review such a massive document, you can contact Santa Cruz City Public Water Department and the City Council and demand that the comment period be extended to 120 days.
