Photo of the Day: Best Space Shuttle Shot Over Santa Cruz?

This is very impressive photo was taken by Ron Winnock and sent in by Cheri Lippmann.

Please add yours here. Do you have a better one? This one is pretty amazing.

P.S.: I don't know who said it, but I like the quote about how if they can build a jet to carry the space shuttle, why do they have to charge for our bags?

How can I get a print of this Photo? Cathy

LOL, it did not fly that low AND it came in on the Boardwalk side of the wharf.

Oh man, Mike..you are killing me... I hope the photog let's us know how he did it. Anyone else have an opinion? People already want to buy that one...Let's see yours, Mr. Murray!

So, I'm not being cynical, only reasonably skeptical, and kinda echoing the comment of Mike Murray above--are you certain that this pic was not PhotoShop-ed or something? The angle and distance don't quite seem to jive with my recollection of how the shuttle actually approached and flew over Santa Cruz. I'd be delighted to be wrong, though--and if I am this is an incredible shot!

This is definitely Photoshopped.

Photoshopped. Let's see if this link works - this is from the Boardwalk's facebook page. Notice that the SCA is much higer coming over the Dream Inn. https://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=10151440442708378&set=a.10151440434388378.588265.40035168377&type=1&theater

Thought something looked off about that.
Mike Daniels September 27, 2012 at 12:00 AM
If you look close under the shuttle you can see a wingwalker, I mean fuselage walker with a scarf blowing in the breeze! Or maybe it is that mischievous critter from space that bedeviled that aircraft engine in that 'Twilight Zone' and 'Twilight Zone the Movie' segments!
Mike Daniels September 27, 2012 at 12:02 AM
And why does this pic remind me of the internet pic of the Great White Shark jumping out of the water and taking down a helicopter?

Click "print" on your computer, and print it out....Duh!!
Ron Winnick September 28, 2012 at 12:12 AM
Hi all, It's me Ron Winnick, the guy who shot this incredible, mind boggling photo of the Space Shuttle. Please see my "How I Done It" jpeg, that explains my photographic magic. Next week I'll be explaining how I know there is no Santa Clause to you all.
Brad Kava (Editor) September 28, 2012 at 12:18 AM
Thanks Ron for the explanation. It sure had a lot of people puzzling.
