75-Year-Old Felton Man Arrested for Second Time with Meth, Cocaine

Sheriff's deputies stopped Jack Smith Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Capitola Road and 17th Ave.

A 75-year-old Felton man who is already facing charges for methamphetamine and cocaine was arrested again for the drugs Saturday by Santa Cruz Sheriff's Deputies.

Jack Smith was pulled over for a vehicle code violation at 17th Avenue and Capitola Road, when deputies saw him trying to conceal pills and methamphetamine.

He was arrested and when his car was searched, the deputies reportedly found 5.3 grams of meth; 2.3 grams of cocaine; 19 Norco pills; 34 morphine pills; 123 hydrocodone pills, a scale, packaging materials and $500 cash.

Smith was the subject of an earlier investigation in Felton after neighbors complained about drug sales at his house. After his arrest, the house was red-tagged and is under foreclosure.

With Smith Saturday was Kristina Hammel, 32, who was arrested for obstructing and delaying officers by refusing lawful orders.

Smith was arrested for drugs, drug sales and commiting a felony while on bail.
