When the residents of a home on the 400 block of Ocean Avenue came to their door Monday, they heard what sounded like someone in the shower.
They called Santa Cruz Police who saw that the bathroom window had been broken into, and in fact, a stranger was showering in the bathroom.
After they announced their presence, they arrested Jason Wamsher, 40, who had reportedly vandalized the house and removed a few items before cleaning up.
He was taken to County Jail, on three charges of burglary, probation violation and being under the influence of a controlled substance that wasn't soap.
