Some streets are closed in downtown Santa Cruz this afternoon because of a traffic accident, police said.
The accident was reported around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Cathcart Street, police said.

The 1000 and 1100 blocks of Pacific Avenue are shut down, as are two blocks of Cathcart Street between Cedar and Front streets.
An employee at Old School Shoes at 1017 Pacific Ave. said a male pedestrian had been hit by a bus.

Police said the streets are expected to be closed for several hours.
