CHP Seeks Help on Soquel Hit-and-Run Thursday

A woman is hospitalized after being hit while walking on Soquel Avenue not far from Dominican Hospital.

The California Highway Patrol is looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run accident that injured a 26-year-old woman at 9:35. p.m.

According to the CHP report, Megan Cole was crossing the Soquel Avenue frontage road by Paul Minnie Avenue, leading to the entrance to southbound Highway 1.

She was struck by a light-gray 2007 Dodge Charger. The driver stopped and spoke to a woman who was walking with Cole. He parked the car and ran away. The woman who was walking with Cole also left the scene before police arrived.

The CHP is looking for both people: the woman is described as blond, 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-4, with a medium build.

The Dodge is registered to Juan Avila of Santa Cruz. The driver has not come forward.
