Elderly Woman Rescued From Car Tipped On Its Side

Extrication tools were needed to free the woman who was taken to Dominican Hospital.

 

Firefighters in Santa Cruz rescued an elderly woman from her car after it tipped over to its side in an accident Friday afternoon, officials said.

At about 3:35 p.m. crews responded to a report of a car that turned on its side with a person trapped inside in the front parking lot of the Ross Dress for Less store at 650 River St., officials said.

Extrication tools were used to free the woman from her car, and she was taken to Dominican Hospital.

The extent of the woman’s injuries is unknown. Officials said no one else was injured in the accident.
