Fugitive Friday Update: Three of the Most-Wanted Arrested

Two fugitives were caught and a third surrendered, the sheriff's office reported.

Three of the county's "most wanted" have been locked up, the Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday.

Erik Vlach, wanted by Santa Cruz police on suspicion of a knife-point car-jacking in November, was arrested Sunday, according to the sheriff's office.

Edward Merino, 49, was wanted by Scotts Valley police for drug charges. Santa Cruz police officers arrested him Monday on Pacific Avenue.

Louisa Katrina Dubinsky, 54, was wanted for a massive real estate fraud case. The Hollister woman turned herself in Feb. 1, has pleaded not guilty to charges and is on court-supervised release from jail while awaiting trial.

All of the fugitives had been featured in a new law enforcement campaign to inform residents about people facing charges in the hope that someone may tip off police to the wanted person's location. The list includes one person with outstanding warrants from each of the following law enforcement agencies: the sheriff's office and police departments in Santa Cruz, Capitola, Scotts Valley and Watsonville.
