Gang Stabbing Outside Sanctuary Center Friday Evening

Police say six men attacked a 19-year-old from Gilroy, stabbing him severely.

Police are looking for as many as six men and boys who attacked and stabbed a Gilroy man near the new Marine Sanctuary Center at Beach Street and Pacific Avenue at around 6:30 p.m.

The victim suffered major injuries in what was called a gang-related attack.

Santa Cruz Police are looking for a Latino man, about 25, 5 feet 8 inches tall with a shaved head, moustache, with a medium to heavy build, dark plaid shorts and a black T-shirt, who wielded the knife.

There were six others with him. Two men, 17 and 19, were contacted near the site of the incident.

The victim was flown to a trauma center.
