Help Needed: Witnesses to Pedestrian Struck by a Car Friday Morning

Santa Cruz Police are looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run accident in which a pedestrian was thrown 20 feet by a car.

A man in his 20s was found at around 1 a.m. Friday after being hit by a car and thrown for 20 feet near Trevathan and Soquel avenues.

The man was flown to a trauma center after suffering moderate to extreme injuries to his legs and back.

The car also hit a light pole and sheared off a fire hydrant causing great damage. The driver left the car and ran away.
